Japanese Kumihimo Braiding
Learn the ancient art of Japanese Kumihimo (ku-mee-hee-mo) Braiding in this interesting and fun little class. A great way to include fiber arts into your jewelry making skills. Students will use the Kumikimo disk with 3 or 4 hand-dyed silk cords and findings to complete a bracelet. A technique that can be used with a multitude of variations and assorted fibers, including beaded fibers. Embellishes beautifully with Lampwork or other large hole beads. Also an excellent medium for use in men's jewelry designing. A great fresh look to any spring or summer wardrobe.

Simply - Silver Fusing!
Are you ready to learn another great technique? Then join us to learn the art of fine silver fusing. It's fast and fun and allows you to make the most fabulous jewelry. Silver fusing is a simple technique that uses a butane microtorch (the kind used to finish creme brulee) and fine silver. This great technique allows you to create and customize your own chains, rings, earrings, connectors and much more! With this technique, you can instantly have the pieces you are looking for and truly customize your designs. Best of all - there are no harsh chemicals or soldering involved. This great beginner class will have you shape and fuse simple rings and balled headpins into two great earring designs. Wear them home by the end of class and amaze you friends and family! Lampworking (Flameworking) Your Own Glass Beads.
Learn how to make your own beautiful glass beads using a Mapp gas and/or a Minor Propane/Oxy torch using Moretti 104 glass rods. Students will learn glass & equipment safety, proper use of materials and tools, basic shapes, marvering, and basic decorating techniques based on individual abilities. Students can progress to more advanced techniques like stringer control, foil & silver applications, encasing, color mixing, and using molds as they master their skills and best - at their own pace. Private lessons are given at Andrea's home in Limerick by appointment only. Seating and dates limited, call for more details.

PMC is a fine silver infused compound clay mixture that allows you to sculpt your own jewelry into many usable shapes and applications. Once fired, the clay binders bake away and you are left with a pure .999 fine silver creation. Tumble, burnish, and patina your projects to get interesting effects.
